In our experience of installing countertops, the average cost of new, custom-made countertops ranges from $2500 – $5000. Of course, this is only an average, and the exact cost will depend on a number of factors. This includes the size of your kitchen, the number of cutouts (sinks, cooktops, etc.) it has, and the specific material that you have chosen. One of the great things about getting new, custom-made countertops is that you can update the look of your kitchen without having to invest in doing an entire kitchen remodel, which can run you thousands of dollars. Kitchen granite countertops are a popular choice for many homeowners because of their natural aesthetics and durability. However, caring for these countertops correctly is essential to keeping them looking their best. Here are some tips for how to care for granite countertops:
1- Clean the countertops regularly with a soft cloth and mild detergent or soap. Be sure to rinse the countertops thoroughly afterward to remove any residue.
2- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on quality granite, as they can damage the surface.
3- If a spill occurs, wipe it up immediately with a damp cloth.
4- Do not place hot pans or pots directly on a granite countertop, as this can cause discoloration or damage.
5- Occasionally seal your countertops with a sealant specifically designed for this surface to protect it from staining and fading.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your kitchen granite countertops will look beautiful and last for many years.
In most cases, the installation will take one to two days. However, if you have a larger kitchen with a lot of counter space, it may take a little bit longer.
The first step in the installation process is to remove the old kitchen countertops. This can be a little time-consuming, especially if they’re glued to the cabinets. Typically, our installation crew will use a saw to cut the new countertops and then remove them with a crowbar.Once the old countertops are removed, the crew will start to install the counters. This process usually includes cutting the quality granite to the correct size and then installing it in place. For most new countertop installations, the crew will use a silicone adhesive to attach the granite to the counter.
After the granite countertops are installed, the Quality Granite Utah crew will clean up the area and you’ll be able to start using your new countertops.
There is a lot of difference between quality granite and marble, starting with their composition. Granite is a type of rock that’s composed of feldspar, quartz, and mica. Marble is a metamorphic rock that’s composed of calcite or dolomite.
Granite is also a harder rock than marble, meaning that it’s more resistant to scratching and staining. On the other hand, marble is more porous than granite, which means it can absorb liquids more easily. This absorbency can lead to staining and etching.
Finally, granite is a better conductor of heat, meaning it can withstand hotter temperatures than marble. This heat resistance makes it a better choice for quality countertops and other areas that may be exposed to heat, such as kitchen backsplashes.
There are a few reasons why even high-quality granite can have small pits in it. One reason is that when the granite was being formed, small bits of other rocks or minerals got trapped in the granite. Over time, these bits of rock or mineral wore away, leaving small pits in the granite.
Another reason why granite can have small pits in it is because of how it was formed. Granite is made up of lots of small rocks that are held together by quartz. If there’s a lot of quartz in quality granite, it makes it harder and more resistant to weathering. However, if there’s less quartz in the granite, it will be more susceptible to weathering and form small pits over time before the slab is mined.
The answer is no; not all granite countertops need to be sealed. Instead, only those that are porous need sealing. Porosity is a characteristic of all quality granite, but it varies from quarry to quarry and from slab to slab. You can easily check if your countertop is porous by pouring a little water on it in an inconspicuous location. If the water sits there for 30 minutes, the countertop doesn’t need to be sealed. If the water absorbs quickly, the granite countertop should be sealed.
Sealing your granite countertop is a simple process that only needs to be done once or twice a year, depending on how porous the countertop is. Sealing your granite countertop will help protect it from staining and keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
